Daniel Doss is a native of Kansas City, Missouri and graduated
from the UMKC Conservatory of Music with a degree in Music
Composition. Daniel has been studying and performing at the
piano since the second grade.

In addition to performing and teaching piano, Daniel has been
involved with professional musical theatre in Kansas City since
2002 as musical director / conductor / band leader / rehearsal
pianist and keyboardist.

Daniel has performed with and/or conducted for every major
theater in Kansas City, including:

- New Theatre Restaurant
- American Heartland Theatre
- The Coterie Theatre
- The Unicorn Theatre
- Egads Theatre Company / Eubank Productions
- Musical Theatre Heritage

From 2006-2008, Daniel started his own theatre production
company,
Thin Air Theatrics, performing at the Just Off
Broadway Theatre, Union Station's H&R Block City Stage, and
Quality Hill Playhouse. As producer, director, and musical
director, Daniel produced five critically acclaimed productions
on a non-union professional theatre level, including Jason
Robert Brown's
Songs For A New World, I Love You, You're
Perfect, Now Change!
, and a sold out run of Jekyll & Hyde: The
Musical
.

As composer, Daniel has been commissioned 4 times to write
original musical scores for Kansas City theatre productions,
including Brecht's
Mother Courage and Aeschylus' Oresteia
Trilogy
. In 2006, Daniel completed his first full length original
musical
Pulling It Off. Currently, Daniel is collaborating with
local playwright Bill Rogers on an exciting new musical project.

From 2007-2010, Daniel spent his days as the accompanist for
F.L. Schlagle High School in Kansas City, Kansas where his
choir won a national Gospel Music competition in 2007 and
annual performances across the nation under the direction of
Mr. Darryl Ammons.

From 2010-2011, Daniel joined the national tour of the
Broadway musical "The Color Purple" as Keyboard II /
Associate Conductor and travelled around the country,
performing nightly to standing ovations.
